How to Disconnect a 2005 Toyota Matrix O2 Sensor
The 2005 Matrix is a compact hatchback vehicle designed and manufactured by Toyota Motor Corporation. The 2005 Matrix is equipped with an O2 sensor, which is the oxygen sensor, a very important component, as it measures and controls the amount of oxygen within the fuel. Disconnecting the oxygen sensor on the Matrix can be a bit tricky because of its location. Disconnecting the O2 sensor, however, requires minimal tools and only takes a few minutes to complete.

- Wrench

Place the Matrix in "Park" and allow the vehicle to cool. Jack the vehicle up so you have enough room to work under the car.

Pull back the center console mat on the passenger side of the vehicle. You will now see an electrical connector. Disconnect the electrical connector by pulling it out.

Position yourself under the vehicle on the passenger side. Use a wrench and unscrew the oxygen sensor. Pull the sensor out of place. The sensor is now disconnected and ready for cleaning or replacing.
